Growing up, Sapphira didn't have many photographs. No family albums stacked on a shelf, no VHS tapes of birthday parties, no framed portraits on the wall. The moments happened, but nothing held onto them.
Allen grew up on the other side of that story. His father was a photographer, and cameras were part of the furniture. He learned early that a single image could carry the weight of an entire day.
When Sapphira and Allen found each other, one of the first things Allen made sure of was this: they would never run out of memories. Every trip, every quiet morning, every moment worth remembering, he captured it. For the first time, Sapphira had what she never had growing up. A collection of moments she could hold.
That impulse, to give someone the gift of their own story,
became Hearts & Cameras.
What started as filming weddings for friends turned into something bigger, one couple at a time. Over the past ten years, we've had the privilege of capturing love stories across Southern California and far beyond.

What started as filming weddings for friends turned into something bigger, one couple at a time. Over the past ten years, we've had the privilege of capturing love stories across Southern California and far beyond. We've filmed on beaches, in barns, at mountaintop estates, and in tiny backyards where thirty people felt like three hundred. We've traveled to almost every continent (two more to go, we're coming for you Antarctica) and brought our cameras everywhere.
But here's the thing we're most proud of: most of our clients become our friends, and most of our friends have been our clients. That's not a marketing line, it's how we've built this company from the beginning. We're a family-owned business, not a production factory. When you book Hearts & Cameras, you get our small team. Real people who care about your day as much as you do.
We don't do stiff poses. We don't follow a shot list like a checklist. We stay close enough to catch the moments that matter and far enough away that you forget we're there. Your film won't look like everyone else's, because your day didn't feel like everyone else's.
